I am creating images of the elements through experimentation, exploring my intrigue into how art imitates life.

Seascape series 2003

My work is concerned with flux; the impermanence of our lives.

The continuous change of a seascape has provided a metaphor for my exploration of our own journey through life.

The oceans encapsulate time - past, present and future. By their very nature, they inspire contemplation and provoke awe.

In these paintings, I have tried to capture the crashing movement of a wave. Or perhaps the sudden glimpse of colour in profound depths. Or what Wordsworth called "a spot of time" in a vast universe of timelessness.
